Myths and Legends: Aladdin and the Lamp

We are learning to make connections with the past and with the stories important to our community. This week we have been learning about the legend of Aladdin and the Magic Lamp. After we listened to, discussed and acted out parts of this story, we used chalk to create a picture of our own genie. Jack was able to talk about his picture and said “We I learning about Aladdin and this is the lamp, this is Aladdin...this is the gold”

Key Competencies/Vision Principles
Jack shows that he capable by talking about our learning intention or WALT (We Are Learning To…). He uses his Thinking skills to discuss what we are learning about. He is able to talk about and draw his ideas to share with others and describe key characters and events in a Myth and Legend (Using Language, Symbols and Text).
Next Learning Steps

  • Develop his oral language to share ideas in complete sentences using appropriate tense and include topic vocabulary.
  • Retell events in a story in the order they happened
