Writing Narrative Assessment

Learner:  Jack          Learning Coach: Mr Hattie              Date: 22 September 2015
Learning Area: Learning Habitat Two - Writing
Learning Observed
During writing we have been learning about persuasive writing. We have been explaining and persuading others to either be or not be a pirate. This has been a way in which we teach the learners about how to use the language features and writing skills that we have learnt over the term. For this piece Jack had to write whether he wanted to be a pirate and why. He had to explain multiple reasons why he did or did not want to the be a pirate. Jack wants to be a pirate because he gets to be on a ship. He talked about how “cool” the pirate ship was.
Evidence of learning

Jack has written about why he wants to be a pirate.
Key Competencies/Vision Principles
Throughout this lesson Jack was showing the Key Competency “thinking” as he had to think of reason why he wants to be a pirate. Also, “understand language and symbols was being used as he had to know the correct way to spell the words and the different language features.
Next Learning Steps
Jack’s next learning steps are:
  • write a persuasive text to convince someone.
  • edit and reflect on the feedback given to him.
