A Fraction of Maths

Learning Observed
After a 20 minute session on how to add fractions with common denominators, Jack chose to complete a follow up activity to help him develop the understanding of this new knowledge. He was able to add 3 fractions together with different numerators and common denominators (e.g. 12/27 + 7/27 + 23/27 = 42).

Jack was able to add fractions with common denominators! I wonder if he can teach one of his peers his new learning?
Key Competencies/Vision Principles
Jack is developing his Capabilities in Maths. He was able to work by himself to Think about the fractions and add them together (Managing Self and Using Language, Symbols and Text). Jack was able to help his peers to understand how to add like fractions (Relating to Others) and was engaged in the task, determined to complete it all in that one day (Participating and Contributing).
